CategoricalIndex.max(*args, **kwargs) [source]

The maximum value of the object.

Only ordered Categoricals have a maximum!

Returns:

Returns:	max : the maximum of this `Categorical`
Raises:	TypeError If the `Categorical` is not `ordered`.

max : the maximum of this Categorical

Raises:

TypeError

If the Categorical is not ordered.
